General - Reward System for uploads

Written at 10 Sep 2010 on 10:43

hi,

i really like this site and i use it a lot for work.

it just occurred to me that i spend a lot of time preparing
posters:
-checking to see if you have them,
-scaling them
-if i have psd version, cutting out text etc
-fixing up any glitches if they are old analogue scans
-going to imdb to get item #'s and uploading them 10 at a time
...etc

now i know i get credit points which is great, but realistically
i should probably get work to just pay for the credits but you
know what, i like adding images to the site to help out others.

so i was thinking it would be really nice if you rewarded those
like me by giving us extra free credits every n'th poster uploaded.
ie. 25 credits for every 50'th item uploaded, it would give even
more incentive to add to the site - and i personally have a lot more
to add - and would give you guys a nice warm and fuzzy feeling...

what do you think?

cheers,
richard

@4rth4s:
The 'normal' procedure is going to the movie page (where you have new posters) on MoviePosterDB, and just clicking on the green 'poster add' button:
Then the correct movie ID should already be inserted at the upload page.
If you want to upload an image for a movie that doesn't exist yet at MoviePosterDB (but at IMDb.com), then just take the movie ID directly from the movie page at IMDb (the 7 digits from the URL - but without the 'tt' prefix).

And next time better start a new thread.
