So I'm curious of the quality of the downloads and the minimum pixel count to make a printable poster?

OR

Does anyone have sites that these posters on the site can be purchased from?

If this post has been done before, sorry.

Thanks for your help.

if the pixels are over 3000, you can definitely print it! but there are alot of sites you can purchase posters. just make a google search!

Iits all got to do with resolution depth in relation to the size of the poster. So if you have a poster of 3000 pixels in height for example, this will print out well at postcard size, but blow it up and it will loose all it's quality - mostly noticeable as poor quality type and various pixelations and artifacts that occur in an image. While people often suggest you can increase the resolution of an image, anything above 10% increase will not work - photo editing suites will allow you do it, but it wont look right. To put it simply if you have 300 pixels in a square inch you cannot turn that into 600 pixels. Hope that helps?

3000 pixels only a postcard? I thought it could print well, withouth any pixelation, DIN-A4 at least. I didn't know 3000 were that little

2033x3000 pixels poster, in a resolution of 300px/inch, gives you nearly a DIN-A4, as it prints 6.77'x10' inches. Well, that's what PS says...

3000 pixels prints very well ... i just printed a HUGE vinyl banner lately. it turned out great with no pixelation. it's 1.20m x 2.20m. jay

Well, my advice was general - a lot dependes on the type of printing. As a designer I would never sanction a banner of that size at that resolution - but if you are happy with the results thats what matters. As a matter of interest do you know what type of printing it is? Inkjet, llambda, photographic?

well what you guys wrote istn wrong, but its not exactly right either.

it doesnt really depend on the amount of pixel it has overall, but more on the amount of pixel it has on a square inch (dpi - dots per inch). That means if u have a poster with 2000 pixel and a dpi of 50 than it will be huge but with a bad quality (a photograph i.e.) but if u have a picture with 500 px and 900 dpi (900 is immensly huge) than u can easily print it really big.

a pc monitor btw. can only show about 98 dpi. so forget searching for pixels on your screen

in the print industrie (i.e. professional posters which advertise a concert or something like that) you have 300 dpi, the amount of pixel then decides the actual size of the poster. for web purpose 72 is the standart.

so yeh the problem here ist that u only see the pixels. i didnt start downloading posters so i dont have any more informations on how to proceed from there.

you can increase the amount of dpi with apps like photoshop but as u can guess u cannot easily increase the information a picture has ... so forget that right away ... the only solution is to turn it into a vecto graphic but the result vary highly on what kind of poster it is.
