Development - Could you create a REJECTED UPLOADS section for the User Figure (on top right)?

I uploaded around 15 images recently, whereupon 7 were rejected. 2 where rejected (I believe) due to being considered custom/fan art, not sure why the 3rd one was rejected (a CARRIE (1976) poster with her by a fence). Out of the other 4 that were rejected, 2 were key art posters for HEAVY METAL (1981). I did not realize that similar posters were stacked on one another (hover over and you can see "4 images" etc) and noticed the key art was already there (fair enough)... but I do not remember what the other 2 posters that were rejected were.

That is why I would like to suggest a new REJECTED UPLOADS tab under/by the PENDING UPLOADS and APPROVED UPLOADS tabs under the User Icon. As there are times where it might take a moderator a few days or even up to a week to approve an image, it can be easy to forget what images you uploaded, only to come back and find only 50 to 70% of your uploads accepted and the rest rejected.

If there was a tab that showed the thumbnails of the rejected art as well as a few words to describe why they were rejected, that would help tremendously with decreasing uploads of previously rejected artwork. Even if the thumbnails only lasted 2 weeks or so, it would be enough for a user to move their images on their PC into another folder to keep them away from future uploads.

At the very least, if there is a way to send a PM to the user with the thumbnail and explanation to the rejection, anything to help with the communication process of building up the site and making sure the frustration levels are kept to a minimum would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, what is going on with my PENDING UPLOADS. Not only am I not receiving messages (PM or otherwise) as to why certain posters/images are being rejected, but it is images that are either already here (but mine are larger and better quality) or new legitimate posters.

Who is looking at my images and what exactly ARE the rules?

I need a moderator to PM when you have the chance, because I've only been here for a week and this is already getting ridiculous.

Rules are simple....
Please avoid:
Movie stills, lobby cards, wallpapers, promo shots and custom (fan-made) posters
Porn movies
Image quality:
No blow-ups: do not artificially increase resolution
Please remove any black or white borders from vintage scans
Please remove any blue and grey borders from Blu-Ray covers
Only upload images of posters we already have when the quality is significantly higher
Select right country
File requirements:
Both width and height must be between 300 and 5000 pixels
Maximum filesize of 7,5 MB
Only JPEG pictures in RGB-mode
You can upload images in both portrait and landscape orientation

That is the problem: I've had images that were rejected that are now accepted. I've uploaded legitimate DVD and poster arts that have been rejected. On the DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE page, there is an AD that was approved.

On the GALAXY OF TERROR page, there are 13 slight variants of the same poster art. I can understand keeping the ones from multiple countries, but there are a few that are near identical to each other with not too much of a size difference:

I understand if images are rejected if the size is slightly larger but image quality is near identical. Same with custom art that is not being used for a legitimate release. But there are other users that have had images rejected when it was their own scans of VHS or DVD covers they made themselves. It just gets frustrating when images are rejected even though it seems they meet criteria.

That is why it would help out greatly if moderators would PM a user as to "why" a poster is being rejected (image may be fine, but it is mislabeled/described) so we can learn and correct any errors or mistakes. If an image is being rejected because of quality, to let us know what the issue is.

For example: for THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT, I have a slightly smaller version of the UK quad, but it isn't as dark grey (brighter with better colors). Granted, I can post into the Pending folder, but would it qualify as unique enough to be included on the page?

I'm sure the mods have no time to PM every rejection. But I could see a check box system they would tick when rejecting as to the reason which would then be sent along with the 'Your image was rejected' notification. And wording it 'DECLINED' over 'REJECTED' would be better.

or even just a short note in the TAGS section. But I do like your idea, RoloTomasi. Anything that can help users understand/learn/improve can't be a bad thing.
