Development - Is there a reason a mod will come in and delete one or two images and ignore the rest?

I've had situations where images pending for approval have been sitting there for 2+ weeks, yet I've had random mods delete one or two images without explanation, regardless of whether they are upgrades to images here or legit images of legit releases labeled as "custom".

If a mod is going to take the time to delete an image, regardless if it is against the rules of the site, why can't that same mod make a decision to accept/delete the other images waiting for judgement?

why were these images deleted?:

https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/supersonic-man-i79971/p/q88xyf3l

they are legitimate poster releases and not custom art. They comply by the rules, yet are still deleted.

Why were these 2 images deleted?:

Tutti i colori del buio 1972 (don't know if it qualifies as a lobby card, as they usually have a photo of the film as the primary image)
https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/tutti-i-colori-del-buio-i69390/p/zri448te

Cinderella 1977 (this is a replacement for a prior upload)
https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/cinderella-i75849/p/fzgu2m0o

Also: do mods read the tags on images?

WHY are these images being rejected?!

https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/lultimo-treno-della-notte-i73836/p/rbmnipm9

These are legitimate covers, posters and upgrades. I need a Mod to PM me please, or at least post a response in this thread.
What is going on, and who is doing this?

https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/tutti-i-colori-del-buio-i69390/p/hllkrx99, is exactly the same poster than this one: https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/tutti-i-colori-del-buio-i69390/p/b1b0s2x7 BLOW-UPED
* This one https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/tutti-i-colori-del-buio-i69390/p/zri448te, is NOT a poster. It's a an italian lobby - card
* https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/cinderella-i75849/p/fzgu2m0o is exactle the same poster than this in the same size, and not better

* and https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/lultimo-treno-della-notte-i73836/p/rbmnipm9 is not a poster, not an oficial cover. You say it's an "Streaming service image" ¿?.

I derived image hllkrx99 from Amazon.it, located here:
https://www.amazon.it/s?k=Tutti+i+colori+del+buio&i=dvd&__mk_it_IT=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&ref=nb_sb_noss

There is a trick on all amazon sites: when you "right click" an image into a new tab, you can change the size (change "UY218_.jpg" to "UY2000_.jpg"). Sometimes the image is terrible looking, as the source image is not very large.. but you will discover that quite a few images on amazon's servers are quite a bit larger (sometimes even 4000 pixels in height).

It is not a blow-up of image b1b0s2x7, which you can tell if you do a side by side and look at the detail (specifically the letters/title on the entire right side. The detail and yellow of the main title in comparison should be easy to notice a difference)

This is not a lobby card. Lobby card's primary focus is a photo of the film, with poster elements on the side. This is a poster "
Approx. 39" x 27.5" (ca. 100 x 70cm)" located here:

I would argue that it is. While it is the same image, the replacement has better color timing (minus the magenta shift), hence the replacement. I understand that my previous credit will be deleted, so this is not a matter of scamming the system and hoarding credits. I am posting a legitimate upgrade with a better (more natural) color timing to replace the current image.

"and https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/lultimo-treno-della-notte-i73836/p/rbmnipm9 is not a poster, not an oficial cover. You say it's an "Streaming service image"

and I have uploaded (and have had accepted) plenty of "streaming service images", as they are still legitimate releases with unique artwork that follow the rules of the site. It is the fact that amazon uses the image to advertise the movie that makes it an official cover.
___________

"The duplicate poster : https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/cinderella-i75849/p/6dafntcs"

That is my image. I am simply replacing my own image with another with better color timing. If you notice, I left 2 tags on my image indicating this.

In fact, this image:
https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/you-better-watch-out-i81793/p/ihc6pdkr

was uploaded to replace this image:
https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/you-better-watch-out-i81793/p/ytgjqgsz

which can be deleted, as per the tags/notes that I left, image ytgjqgsz is a bit too heavy on the magenta shift.

Can a moderator please review my images? I have images dating back to 21 days. I am still having an issue where a mod will only approve 1 to 3 images every other week, and I am still wondering why the rest of the images are being ignored.

All your pending uploads are blow-ups>artificially increase resolution. It looks a resume of all refused cover uploads for years.

What is your problem, Imaq? Why are you taking this so personally?

No these are not blow ups. You can tell if something has been artifically enhanced, as you will have jagged edges along diagonal or curved lines. Are you saying these are artifically enhanced?:

https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/caligola-la-storia-mai-raccontata-i82133/p/ibi5mof4
https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/caligola-la-storia-mai-raccontata-i82133/p/tzit09qx
https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/caligola-la-storia-mai-raccontata-i82133/p/kbkuompa (this is from a direct Google search)
https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/caligola-la-storia-mai-raccontata-i82133/p/pap6o2cr (this is from VHScollector.com)

I have my sources (the various Amazon and Ebay sites being some) and I have already explained this. I even provided specific sources to prove previous uploads were indeed posters, which you ignored.

It does not take much effort to open 2 or 3 tabs and compare my images to the ones already posted. If it is either a decent upgrade or a new image that is not even on the site, then what is the issue?

And this still does not explain why a moderator will come along and approve 1 to 3 images and ignore the rest.

Can this be referred to another moderator?

Speaking of artificially boosted images, check this out:

https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/dagmars-heta-trosor-i68443/p/5tfp5o3i

That is a blow up.. you can tell by the fuzziness and the jagged lines, especially on the curves and diagonal areas.

And there is this:

https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/dagmars-heta-trosor-i68443/p/iwdgu0ap

If you zoom in, you can see someone did some very poor photoshopping where the poster damage/lines are located.

All of my images are better than both of these, and these have been on the site since 2013.

The same rules do not apply to what was uploaded nearly 10 years ago when the site was under a different name and with different standards. We do not delete old posters unless there is a better replacement.

Why moderators often ignore your uploads? Sometimes they are not better quality of what is already uploaded and we wait for another moderators to take a look. I approved multiple Caligula et Messaline uploads, but the German poster is just a blow up of this -

Hi,

I can't add a new thread so I reply here

I would like to know how moderators accept posters.

Indeed some users obtain credits by sending all the layers of the posters, but a poster is not only a background or an isolated character...
In addition to being unfair, because not all users have access to the native poster files (psd or psb files) this is not the purpose of this site.

I give you examples on request and there are far too many!

Moderators I await your reasoned answer.

While the image in question was not a blow up of that image (short of them coming from the same source, as my image did not have the folds and poster damage of the image on Cinematerial),

https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/caligula-et-messaline-i83710/p/cggxnom1

if you notice on the tags for the image, I requested it to be deleted as I have found a larger and clearer image on Ebay.de (Ebay germany). Much like the Cinderella DVD cover image I posted that was initially too magenta, sometimes I've put images up that even I change my mind on and want to take down but can't, as users do not have the ability to edit their own images, even in the pending folder.

Speaking of which, is there any way a mod can review my current images? I have had images since September 26th (4 weeks), keeping my Pending Images in limbo for a month.
