Hello! So I got this error while trying to add an IMDb link uploading a poster. When I add an IMDB link, It shows an "Invalid URL" error. I just got that issue. Can this be fixed? Thanks in advance!

Can we create a Kickstarter to buy IMDb from Amazon so they don't mess with that website every week??

Hopefully they were in the process of fixing it.

It seems to be working now... sort of.

I've uploaded 8 movie posters that weren't on CineMaterial.

However, two of them ("Soultanat al-sahra" 1947, https://www.imdb.com/es-es/title/tt0274872/) and ("Wahiba malikat al-ghagar" 1951, https://www.imdb.com/es-es/title/tt0275063/) have appeared on CineMaterial with their Arabic titles.

On the other hand, the dreaded "invalid url" has appeared in the titles of the films "The Loser's End" 1924, https://www.imdb.com/es-es/title/tt0015082/) and "Rabha" 1945, https://www.imdb.com/es-es/title/tt0313528/.

Same here, some titles work and others don't.
I don't think it's the site's fault; it's IMDb protecting itself against attacks.

I forgot to mention that on some of the posters I uploaded, when I clicked "Upload" I got a "Server Error 500" message and had to repeat the process.
It uploaded successfully on the second try.

On another note, it's odd that the two Egyptian posters I uploaded appeared on the site with their Arabic script. It's the first time I've seen that. Previously, it happened to me with an original English title that appeared on the site with a Dutch title.

The "source" of the titles changed to MovieDB instead of IMDb. That's why the titles are appearing in other languages, and this bug of uploading twice is happening. It sucks, unfortunately.

About the "invalid url": you have the add the IMDb id for the title on their respective MovieDB page. It's double the work to upload a poster.

I don't quite understand what you're saying.

And since there's nothing better than a practical example... How can I upload a poster for the film "The Losers End" (https://www.imdb.com/es-es/title/tt0015082/)?

When I try to upload it, I get an "invalid url" error.

Go to this website: https://www.themoviedb.org/

Look for the title "The Loser's End". If you don't find it, create it

If you do find it, go to edit the page and then go on "External IDs" on the left corner. If the section "IMDb ID* is blank, add it the IMDb ID

I followed your instructions and registered on that site. I created the title using the IMDb ID.

But when I go back to CineMaterial, I'm still getting the same error.

What did I do wrong?

If you have to wait a few hours to work.

It's quite a hassle.

Having to register a film already listed on IMDb in MovieDB so that CineMaterial can recognize the IMDb url.
