What funds your habits?

Right now I'm an on-air graphics op/designer for CTV in Canada, plus I shoot freelance as well as the odd jobs working in film as a script editor.

Think about poster designer and their job. They are doing their work for living and this site is simply robbing them. If you admire their job so much, you would buy their posters and not to allow this piracy.

Most of posters are not possible to find for buying in a way designer receives the money. The truth is that even those posters selled are not really something made to sell, as they are promotional material. And, anyway, if you buy an original poster, the designer won't see any dollar for that, as designer earns money for poster designed, not for unit poster sent to a theater or sold later (even of course, being the original poster). And, if he wants, he can publish them in a book or reprint posters legally (a thing they don't usually do), but as I said, most of posters have no legal reprint version, and most of the posters you can find here have no version for selling but the original promotional poster that, even having a cost of thousands or millions of dollars the designer won't see a single dollar.

Legal pages where you can buy original posters not the company or designer will ever see a dollar:

Legal pages that sell original posters where the company or the designer earn any money:

These sites are selling vintage movie memorabilia - this second hand market which is OK. there is no need to pay anything here for the designers. Same as you buy second hand books.

BUT ANY SINGLE REPRINT POSTER you buy in any LEGIT poster gallery on this planet has copyright owner (in most cases it is designer) and there are ALWAYS fees paid to designers for making reproductions and for selling them legally.

SO, if you want to make REPRINTS of any design you need permission from
copyright owner. The same rule apply to copies of ANY copyrighted material -
posters, paintings, music, movies, books, poems, photographs and anything else
that has an author (unless author decided that it public domain)

AGAIN - making reprints of any artwork without permission from the author is
illegal - it is simply THEFT.

Yeah, I know and we all now... who's making reprints here? If I told you how many people we have deleted an account and messages in the forum for trying to sell reprints you wouldn't believe me.

This are only pictures that are public, all of them can be found in the most legal way just searching the internet, and the only thing done in this page is put it all together and organized.

I've never printed a poster and it's clearly put in the FAQ that printing this pictures is not legal.

And about the "BUT ANY SINGLE REPRINT POSTER you buy in any LEGIT poster gallery on this planet has copyright owner (in most cases it is designer)" really... I would like that to be true, but I have absolutely legal books of posters that have all information, and most of the copyright is linked to the company and not the designer, and most of the times, but very few exceptions of very popular designers, I don't even know the name of the designer, and believe me, I would like to know always the name of the designer. 99% of times it's not even printed in a poster full of printed names, and that should be embarrasing, we cannot even know who made them, it's like movie posters fall from trees.
