Checking this means that posters on a title page link to their respective groups. When left unchecked, you will always go directly to a poster page.
With these, you can specify which posters you want to be shown. The filter applies to all pages with posters, but you can override the setting on each page separately. When no pictures match your criteria, the filter is automatically disabled.
